The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C Neighborhood: Buckhead Starting Rate: $229/night Highlights: Though each of the 510 guest rooms at this 30-year-old hotel is beautiful, it’s worth it to upgrade to the exclusive Spa Level, where you’ll find a personal spa concierge, relaxation lounge, convenient access to the spa and in-room amenities such as spa-inspired snacks, Tempur-Pedic mattresses and yoga mats, anytime check-out, sound machines and eco-friendly bamboo bath accessories. Best For: Shopaholics. With both Lenox Square mall and Phipps Plaza just across the street from the hotel, the Ritz is the perfect place for retail enthusiasts. Don’t Miss: Though afternoon tea and live jazz in the Lobby Lounge are favorites, the Sunday brunch and bubble bar is a standout — more than 100 desserts anchor the festive meal, which is rounded out with a Champagne cocktail from the interactive bubble bar. 9. The Georgian Terrace Hotel Neighborhood: Midtown Starting Rate: $100/night Highlights: Affordable luxury is the name of the game at this historic icon, where elegant crystal chandeliers, white marble columns and floor-to-ceiling windows perfectly complement the modern and vibrant Proof & Provision, the hotel’s lively watering hole. Best For: History buffs. The hotel, which opened in 1911, has played host to President Calvin Coolidge, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Tallulah Bankhead, not to mention the premiere gala for Gone With the Wind in 1939. Neighborhood: Downtown Starting Rate: $200/night Highlights: The sleek and modern hotel may be in the heart of downtown, but inside, you’ll find a verdant sanctuary ready to pamper you, whether you opt for cocktails in the “Living Room,” an indulgent steak dinner at BLT Steak (go for the truffle mac & cheese!) or a massage at the beloved Bliss Spa. Best For: Scenesters. The hip vibe of this hotel makes it a true place to see and be seen for trendy visitors and posh locals alike. Best For: Luxury seekers. The 5-star, 5-diamond hotel has a level of service and sophistication that is unmatched. Don’t Miss: The fifth-floor apiary, where more than 500 pounds of honey have been produced for use in the restaurant, Park 75, and spa. 4. Loews Atlanta Hotel Loews Atlanta Hotel Neighborhood: Midtown Starting Rate: $159/night Highlights: The newest hotel in Midtown is not only walking distance to the city’s top attractions, but it also boasts a modern Southern-meets-French restaurant, Eleven, and is revered for its exemplary service. Best For: Business travelers. There’s free in-room Wi-Fi and more than 40,000 square feet of flexible meeting space (more than any other Midtown hotel), plus a 4,800-square-foot terrace with views overlooking the city. Don’t Miss: Exhale, one of the largest spa and fitness centers in town (20,000 square feet, including 9,000 square feet of gym space), is free for hotel guests. There’s even a sauna, the only hammam room in Georgia, and yoga, barre and core classes. 3. St. Regis Atlanta Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. Neighborhood: Buckhead Starting Rate: $650/night Highlights: The St. Regis’ signature butler service is just the tip of the iceberg at this AAA 5-diamond property, which is also home to one of the few outdoor hotel pools in town — in a 40,000-square-foot piazza with waterfalls, cabanas and poolside service, no less. (Hint: In the cooler months, the piazza is transformed into a magical ice-skating rink.) Best For: Foodies. Not only is local restaurateur Gerry Klaskala opening a restaurant inside the hotel, but the property is situated in a courtyard housing some of Atlanta’s best restaurants, including Umi Sushi and Ford Fry’s King + Duke. Don’t Miss: Afternoon tea, which is hosted daily from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Expect nearly a dozen teas alongside beautiful towers piled high with savory petite sandwiches, freshly baked scones, pastries and petit fours. 2. Artmore Hotel Neighborhood: Midtown Starting Rate: $155/night Highlights: One of Atlanta’s only boutique hotels, the Artmore, which is located in the city’s cultural arts district, is full of unique details, such as a cozy cocktail garden, historical architecture and Old Hollywood décor. Best For: Families. The hotel is one of the few in town to offer 2-bedroom and loft suites, complete with in-room kitchens. Omni Hotel at CNN Center Omni Hotels Neighborhood: Downtown Starting Rate: $159/night Highlights: The 4-diamond hotel’s location can’t be beat — not only is it located within CNN’s world headquarters, it’s also adjacent to Philips Arena and the Georgia World Congress Center. As of October 2014, it is attached to the brand-new College Football Hall of Fame and Chick-fil-A Fan Experience as well. Best For: Sightseers. The hotel is in the heart of the city’s top tourist attractions, walking distance from the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola and the Georgia Dome.
